Role
Manage projects through all relevant stages of the project lifecycle
Produce all required documentation e.g. Requests For Work, Cost Estimates, Initial and Full Business Cases, Project Briefs, Project Initiation Documents, Project Plans, CAPEX / OPEX Forecasts, Exception Reports, Change Requests, Project Closure Reports etc.
Advise and influence internal / external parties at senior management level through structured communication and use of effective influencing skills.
Ensure that contracts and negotiations with both internal and external suppliers are always aimed at meeting the business needs of Sky by providing a value for money service in terms of standards, quality, efficiency, safety, performance and cost effectiveness.
Forecast and set budget requirements for Projects and ensure effective utilisation of available resources within budget provision.
Essential
Project Management methods and tools.
Governance – Quality, Budget, Timescales.
In-depth knowledge of full systems lifecycle.
Broad Technical knowledge and detailed experience in medium to large scale Infrastructure Projects
Broad business knowledge including commercial, financial awareness.
Significant project management experience (5 – 10 years) on medium/large scale or complex IT Infrastructure projects/projects (typically £1m plus).
Demonstrable relevant experience of operating in a systems development environment, including direct experience in such a role.
Significant experience of delivering IT projects through others and without direct control.
Previous experience of customer and supplier relationship management relevant to IT, particularly including management of negotiations
IT Infrastructure Project Management – managing delivery through all stages of the lifecycle (Initiation, Analysis, Design, Build and Implementation).
Project Management – skilled in at least one project management formal method used in IT environments.
Planning and Control skills, using recognised Project management tools.
Risk/Issue Management.
People Management – particularly managing people without direct authority.
Communication skills – credible with senior management, good at conflict resolution.
While based in Osterley Role may require travel between Osterley and Livingston in Scotland
Desirable
Management of Medium/Large Scale Infrastructure Migration for core services e.g. Active Directory, LDAP.
Knowledge of Data Centre issues.
Knowledge of Wintel technologies.
Knowledge of Storage technologies.
Knowledge of Network technologies.
