Job Description:

Linux Systems Engineer / DevOps / WebOps (Redhat Puppet Chef). The World’s leading financial derivatives trading site is seeking a skilled Linux Systems Engineer / DevOps to join a close knit team responsible for the firms’ Redhat Linux infrastructure and supported services across the globe. This is an excellent opportunity to join a very successful and growing company and develop valuable WebOps and Middleware skills including automation and DevOps.

As a Linux Systems Engineer / DevOps your responsibilities will include monitoring Linux systems for availability and performance – liaising with the infrastructure and development teams to ensure optimal uptime performance of busy, mission, critical financial trading environments; to include installing, maintaining and securing systems, implementing new tools and technologies and troubleshooting production issues.

You will be working in their impressive City based offices in a professional yet informal and collaborative software house environment.

Requirements for Linux Systems Engineer / DevOps:

•Experience working in a Linux production environment

•Linux shell scripting

•Understanding of networking

•Strong analytical and problem solving abilities

•Keen technologist, keen to work with the latest technologies and eager to learn

•Excellent communication skills

•Degree educated, Computer Science preferred

•Desirable: open source technologies, experience supporting multi-tiered applications, configuration management tools: puppet, chef, ansible, salt; web routing technologies: Apache, Nginx, F5, ha_proxy, Varnish, Squid; exposure to Agile, ITIL environments
