Project Planner / Project Co-ordinator (Technology Projects) 

Volume is an award-winning global provider of digital content, technology and innovation. They support their clients through four key areas of competence: Client Services and Support, Creative Agency, Learning & Development Practice and Technology Practice. 

Position: Technology Planning Manager 
Location: Wokingham, Berkshire (commutable from Reading, Maidenhead, Slough, Woking) 
Salary: £30k-£40k depends on experiences 

ROLE: 
As Project Planner / Project Co-ordinator, you have responsibility for coordinating and scheduling technology projects, ensuring the maximisation of resource utilisation and supporting the UK and SL team operations. Working closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will manage and maintain the technology project schedule as well as assisting in areas such as the appraisal process, absence management, assisting new starters, and communicating key messages to the team. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
a) Managing and planning the daily / weekly / monthly workload of the Technology team, as well as the E-Learning Developer schedule within the Learning and Development (L&D) team. 
b) Organising and ensuring planning best practice for both the Technology and L&D team. 
c) Liaising between account handling and project management teams. 
d) Taking a hands-on approach to supporting the team leads and Client Services teams through coordination of workload. 
e) Organising monthly forecast meetings to ensure a proactive approach to planning resource. 
f) Ensuring that working processes (planning, testing, documentation, etc.) are efficient and adhered to by the Technology team. 
g) Making recommendations for process improvements as required. 
h) Ensuring the smooth planning of projects to deliver requirements within the timeframe given. 
i) Supporting the CTO in developing the structure of the Technology team to maximise the potential and expertise within the Technology department. 
j) Assisting with all new starters into the team to ensure they are onboarded efficiently and smoothly. 
k) Managing the holiday process for the UK and Sri Lanka Technology team. 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE: 
a) Previous experience in a Project Planner / Planning role. 
b) Outstanding organisational skills. 
c) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
d) Diplomacy and negotiation skills. 
e) Able to work on your own initiative, work under pressure, and to work with personnel from all levels. 
f) Good Excel skills. 

DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE: 
a) Previous experience of resource planning of technology projects would be desirable. 

You may have experience of the following: Project Planner, Resource Manager, PMO, Project Co-ordinator, Excel, Prince 2, Junior Project Manager, Planning, Information Technology, Project Management, Scheduling, Resource Planning, Prince II, Technology Projects, Assistant Project Manager etc.
