Software Architect – c£70,000/Annum, London

Global Technical Specialist Corporation seeking a Software Architect to come in to fill a strategic position to align with strong company growth plans and key projects! Stuck in your BAU? Key responsibilities of the role:

-Work with stakeholders to refine business requirements and translate these into system requirements and recommended options for delivery including designs and size estimates

-Ensure designs are consistent with strategic enterprise architecture goals whilst remaining appropriate to the development methodology (usually Agile Scrum)

-Work across, and within, project teams as design/technical lead and mentor. Be able to provide hands-on development of exceptional quality that sets the standard for others to follow. Review the code submitted to ensure compliance with the design as well as the coding standards and principles such as OWASP and PCI

-Track technology developments and champion the adoption of appropriate tools, technologies and development techniques where they provide real business value and support continued high growth

-Ensure efficient knowledge-transfer of solutions with accurate and up-to-date documentation, demos and presentations where needed

-Be ready to troubleshoot and investigate production system problems if required

What Do You Need To Have?

The Solution Architect will have extensive experience of design leadership with complex enterprise systems and solid knowledge of software (and ideally hardware) architecture, including C#/.net, databases, clustering, load balancing, distributed file-systems, storage, virtualisation and design patterns. You will have extensive experience of object oriented analysis and design, knowledge of web application security and performance testing, as well as proven experience in software development in a number of languages and environments.

You will have good knowledge of agile methods and a demonstrable track record in delivering work to schedule and specification. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with stakeholders both internally and externally – in both business and technology through open and honest dialogue.

Technical experience:

-Highly experienced C#/.net developer with a track record of object-oriented design

-Practical experience of software design principles such as SOLID and Design Patterns (e.g. Gang of Four)

-Domain Driven Design

-SQL 2005 – 2014 (Preferably SQL Server) including optimisation of queries

-Microsoft IIS

-Source code control (Subversion and/or Git)

-UML

-Experience in good development practise (CI, unit testing, TDD, agile, etc.)

Desirable:

-Enterprise messaging (e.g. RabbitMQ or IBM MQ)

-Atlassian tool set
