complex worldwide projects.
Project Managers will be assessed and assigned to client engagements according to their relative strengths in each of these areas, the client?s emphasis on which characteristics
are required and CIBER management?s evaluation of fit.
In general, the Project Manager is responsible for supervision of the project to ensure that multiple projects are delivered within scope, quality, time and budget requirements. A
Project Manager must be able to balance the effort required to remain within the bounds of schedule and budget with the ultimate objective of proactively maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the engagement.
Managers must possess demonstrated experience in managing engagements of various sizes and types (e.g. application development, outsourced services). They must be willing to integrate this personal experience with the execution of CIBER?s standard
project management methodologies (CPMM) and techniques as developed and governed by the Project Management Office. They are also invited to participate in the evolution of these methodologies and techniques.
SPECIFIC DAY TO DAY JOB
? Build tactical client relationships, specifically with client stakeholders
? Establish close relationship with designated client management peers
? Foster close relationships between CIBER team members and their
peers/liaisons in the client organization.
? Identify and communicate potential opportunities surfacing with client. Assist Sales with engaging with client early in the procurement cycle
? Work with Practice teams to determine and define best
solutions for meeting requirements
? Conceptualize final solution approach with Pursuit team and work with them to translate into formal scope statements Conceptualize final solution approach with Pursuit team and work with them to translate into

? Communicate resource needs for the engagement to the Practices
? Evaluate and approve the resources required for the project
? Meet regularly with management, project teams, and functional team leaders to
review status, make recommendations, and resolve problems
? Work with CIBER and client leadership to provide client consultative change management and negotiation
? Ability to view the entire engagement status in light of goals and
re-prioritize activities and re-focus the team to the highest priority tasks
? Motivate the team to implement a cohesive solution within the established scope, cost, and schedule.
? Encourage team members to work with the Practices along the
lines of career growth and individual marketability
? Mentor team members, both client facing and non-client facing
? Promote recognition of employee accomplishments
? Understand client business situation/plans in the areas impacted by
the engagement and how they might trigger need for more services from CIBER
? Create contractual documents such as Statements of Work that commit CIBER to delivery of products or services
? Work with team to perform cost/benefit analysis and
determine impact of proposed changes
? Manage and update the Gross Profit Project Report (GPPR).
? Comply with the requirements of the CIBER Project Management Methodology (CPMM) as tailored to meet the requirements of the client
Manage/monitor deliverables and milestones as defined in the WBS/project schedule
? Identify and communicate potential risks and mitigation plans
? Prioritize and assign tasks to team members
? Report hours worked and other costs
incurred to provide data necessary for billing the client
? Manage actual costs to the planned costs. Address variances
? Forecast resource usage on a weekly basis to help ensure accurate availability. Inform Practices about changes to
resource utilization plans
? Prepare performance review information and assist with performance appraisal process as needed
? Participate in discovery sessions with clients to determine and/or verify initial solution requirements
Lead estimation workshops to determine level of effort for proposed engagements
? Understand the business environment of the client, its challenges and how CIBER solutions will provide business benefits
? Ensure engagement quality goals are
satisfied by understanding the quality goals and processes applicable to the solution being delivered
? Create and maintain prescribed project management artifacts throughout the lifecycle of the engagement.
? Ensure that all artifacts
produced by CIBER on the project are located in either a CIBER or client repository subject to appropriate configuration management
? Work with client to tailor CIBER methods and practices to those of the client if needed
