We’re taking on new challenges around the world and exploring new ways to open up the world for our millions of customers. And you could be part of it all.

About the Team

The Team is responsible for the development of Telefonica UK’s IT Architecture in line with Business Strategy and, as necessary, for the identification of new technology principles, standards and guidelines, and helps to develop these where required. The Team is there to ensure that the overall architecture aligns with Telefonica Group CIO strategy and objectives. The Team is led by the Chief Architect and supported by four Lead Architects.

  • Participate in due diligence of new software purchases by reviewing all proposed data models contained in packaged or commercially available applications. You’ll lead the data design process as part of the architecture team for large projects and programmes
  • With your Architecture governance experience you’ll serve on data integration, business intelligence and the Telefonica information council when required
  • Stay close to the BI delivery team, but working with the Information Architects to crystallise and instantiate the data models and supporting data structures. You’ll support and direct the Integration Architects/Designers to support them in their evolution towards an appropriate Canonical data model
  • Maintain relationships with the data users to understand their requirements and translate these into the necessary underlying data structures
  • Define the data architecture to meet business needs and requirements and ensure that access to data is sufficiently efficient, flexible and sustainable to support the information needs of the Enterprise
  • The data architecture is expected to support both traditional EDW and also contemporary big data frameworks and the Architect is expected to a good grasp of both and importantly their relative merits
  • Develop the maturity and adoption of EIM across the organization
  • Key Skills and Experiences Required
