Business Intelligence Architect (Lead)

We are currently seeking candidates for a Business Intelligence Lead Consultant/Architect for a permanent opportunity in Middlesex. The client are a global market leading organisation who are looking to
bring in house expertise in the BI space and work closely with the Global Head of Applications and the business to define and implement the new function across their global infrastructure.

This is a senior appointment for a newly formed, and
rapidly expanding international IT department, so we require candidates who can demonstrate a proven track record in establishing a BI function within a corporate environment.

Acting as part of the London based Global IT team Business
Intelligence Architect position will contribute to the company’ s success by performing a key role in designing, building and supporting the enterprise Business Intelligence architecture including Data Warehouse, Data Mart and Reporting Solutions which
enable key business users to make solid business decisions.

The role will have four primary functions

Business Intelligence – selecting, blue printing, gathering requirements, designing a rolling out BI solutions to end users. The
Business Intelligence Architect is also responsible for ensuring high levels of BI availability through support functions and in-depth testing.

Data – designing, developing and implementing data models for enterprise level applications and
systems. These models shall be architected at the following layers: conceptual, logical, business area and application.

Reports – examine and evaluate reporting requirements for various business units across the organization. The Business
Intelligence Architect is also responsible for proactively generating and compiling reports based on his/her findings, complete with recommended improvements to – or new requirements for business processes, operational procedures and their corresponding
reporting structures.

Administration – will include regular reporting on performance and/or oversight of installations, integration, upgrades, migrations and on-going maintenance on the Company’s various Business Intelligence applications.
This position will also be responsible for responding to the technical requests of users and project teams pertaining to the applications.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Lead the BI team (employees & developers) to meet
project objectives and deliver impacting business analytics.
Take full responsibility for key reporting areas, producing relevant/useable information to enable recipients to make informed business decisions.
Ensure weekly/monthly reports are
delivered accurately and on time so users will always have the latest, most up to date information/analysis.
Work to develop existing reports and improve departmental efficiency, without compromising quality or accuracy.
Proactively seek to
develop self. Look to improve technical skills, industry/Future knowledge and analytical techniques.
Provide modelling support to the business to enable accurate future planning decisions to be made.
Excellent communication skills to enable
effective communication to all levels of the organization
Working closely with distributed development team and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction

Person Specification

and Experience
7+ years of SQL development experience
BA/BS degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field required
Experience of setting up and managing data warehouse/BI environments
Experience with ETL from
transactional ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JDE or similar)
Excellent understanding and experience of building tabular and multi-dimensional models
Excellent project management experience
Extensive experience with T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, & SSAS />Experience of writing complex stored procedures
Experience with PowerView, PowerPivot, SharePoint
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven experience developing visually appealing and accurate financial and sales
reporting solutions

Experience working Dynamics CRM / Azure SQL / Workday

Qualifications and Training
Educated to a degree level

Aptitudes/Personal Profile
