Helpdesk Support Engineer – AV / IT

Our client is recruiting on behalf of a leading firm that specialises in the integration and servicing of AV and video conferencing systems. Due to internal promotion and continued demand, they are now looking for an additional Helpdesk Support Engineer to join their team.

As a Helpdesk Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing a high level of technical support to all fault tickets received in the company’s helpdesk.
Responding to queries via the telephone and email, you’ll remotely troubleshoot and diagnose a wide range of issues relating to AV equipment. Accurately recording all calls and updates, you’ll provide a first class standard of service to guarantee that issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Additionally, you’ll escalate any unresolved problems to the Field Engineering Team and ensure that customers are kept fully updated on the progress of their queries.
To be considered for this role, you must have at least one year’s experience gained within the AV service or support industry. You must also have experience of any of the following:
– Crestron, AMX and Kramer technologies, as well as basic Extron programming
– Smart technologies, Cisco and Polycom CV systems
– Audio, including sound desks, microphones, process, amps and wireless
– Video screens, projections, scalers, faders and players
– IT with an understanding of IP network protocols
– Digital and analogue signals
– SMATV satellite systems and IPTV networks
Due to the nature of our client’s location, a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle is also essential.
As a Helpdesk Support Engineer, you must have excellent communication skills, a flexible approach and an enthusiastic, ‘can do’ demeanour.
A CTS qualification would be beneficial to your application, as would a Polycom or Cisco qualification, but this is not essential.
