Daily Rate: Dependant on experience – Project Planner – £200 – £270

Duration- 12 Month Initial Contract
Start: ASAP

Clearance: SC Clearance
SC clearance is essential for this opportunity. All applicants must either have current SC clearance or be able to obtain it.
Due to the urgent start date for this vacancy candidates who hold current SC clearance or who have held it in the past will have a distinct advantage.


Key tasks and responsibilities

– Associate Project Manager A well organised and enthusiastic individual is required with excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills to provide consistent high quality support to Project Mangers through the management and co-ordination of project data throughout the project lifecycle.
– The Associate Project Manager (APM) will support a number of projects within an operating department, often working for a number of PMs.
– Key responsibilities will include: In the absence of the Project Manager to act as first point of contact for internal requests relating to project documentation.
– Assist in the preparation of project documentation as required e.g. bids, plans, procurement etc.
– Co-ordinate and attend reviews with all relevant staff and maintain a co-ordinated schedule of planned reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
– Provide an accurate record of meeting outputs and act as the interface to monitor progress and ensure actions are completed in a timely manner.
– Monitor financial data, bringing forward issues for review, and propose way forward/mitigation, to enable accurate forecasting and financial control.
– Organise and maintain project filing system, ensuring all necessary corporate documentation as defined in the Management System is available as required, highlighting any issues to the PM.
– Plan, prepare and review project reporting documentation, bringing forward issues arising for resolution and capturing lessons learned.
– Liaise with the Management Accountant in respect of financial issues which would include project set-up, accruals and closure.



Key Skills

– Good Knowledge of Financial Process & reporting systems
– Microsoft Project professional, Co’ordinating reviews
– Previous experience in preparation of project documentation
– Monitoring financial data.
– Desirable Experience: General education e.g. GCSEs or equivalent, C grade or above in English or Maths
– Previous experience of Associate Project Manager work and a good track record in supporting Project Managers. Evidence of a good understanding of financial processes and reporting systems.
– Evidence of good communication and interpersonal skills Evidence of competence with Microsoft Project Professional
– Desirable: Professional project management training Evaluation Criteria
– A good understanding and track record in using generic project management processes, techniques and tools.
– Good financial and analytical skills
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Previous experiences in project support ensuring project records are accurately maintained.
– Evidence of competence with Microsoft Project Professional
