Due to continued growth we are seeking a Senior Business Analyst.
The Senior Business Analyst role is a key member of Corporate Business Systems, working with business leaders to develop business architecture as well as providing Business Analysis leadership and supporting project teams throughout the project lifecycle from concept through design, development, testing and transition.
The role of the Senior Business Analyst is to identify, analyse and document IS strategy and capability, needs and systems architecture for lines of business and to support projects by developing the business cases, organisational design, business processes and requirements to enable design and development. This includes acting as the main point of contact with the Business to resolve questions and queries regarding specifications, leading the preparation of user and system test plans and be the main contact throughout the transition into operations to ensure smooth transition. Additionally, the Senior Business Analyst will provide professional directi on, standards and oversight for other Business Analysts within the Business Systems Team.
Duties will include:
Analysing and informing business strategies, and translating/mapping them to implementable projects and programmes based on business priorities, constraints and interdependencies working with the Head of Corporate Business Systems.
Producing business cases and assessments of options for proposed investments.
Documenting and analysing business organisation, processes and information needs using standard process and information modelling techniques.
Collecting business requirements and translating these into functional specifications, using standard methods and techniques.
Collaborating with business sponsors to manage benefits realisation and business dependencies.
Providing the link between the business managers, users, developers and third parties throughout the development lifecycle and assist in the resolution of any queries regarding specifications.
Leading the design and execution of test scripts and scenarios and facilitate the resolution of identified issues to the satisfaction of business users.
Supporting project & programme management in deputising, developing plans and project strategies, and operating project & programme governance processes such as programme reporting, risk and opportunity management, issue management and change control. Assisting in the enforcement of project milestones and committed time-scales.
Working closely with Transition Managers to ensure smooth transition of the solution into operations.
Be an effective ambassador of Group IS and ensure the ‘team player ethos’ and high integrity to ensure the LR Group succeeds.
Leading the personal development of Business Analysts and managing Business Analysis standards used within Corporate Business Systems.
Eliminate or minimise employee’s exposure to risks by re viewing, regularly, the health and safety risk register, applying appropriate controls, communicating results of risk assessment and ensuring health and safety is considered in the planning and execution of all LR activities.
Manage your own and your team’s compliance with health and safety rules, instructions, systems and legal requirements, ensuring employees are suitably trained and adequate resources are available to work safely.
Monitor and review health and safety performance, observe safety behaviours in the workplace, taking appropriate corrective and preventive action as necessary and suggesting and implementing improvement activities.
Degree in IT or relevant discipline
Proven track record of documenting and analysing complex business processes and demonstrable experience in creating requirements formal methods and techniques.
Demonstrable experience in strategy or architecture, full lifecycle proj ects and IS development.
Proven track record of working and liaising effectively with business users at various level of seniority.
Results-oriented and customer-focused, able to interact and communicate at all levels.
Good commercial acumen able to understand and appreciate the impact of design decisions on the operating models. of the business and IT
Effective team player and able to be an ambassador of Group IS in all interactions both externally and internally.
Wider complementary experience within either IS or other functional disciplines.
