The purpose of the Application Support Analyst is to maintain and enhance the the Client’s Insurance Administration package, which is a heavily customised Sapiens IDIT application. A fast learner, they will be trained by the Client
and Sapiens to maintain and enhance this software suite using IDIT setup tools. SQL and some Java knowledge are needed for some aspects of the role.
The IDIT application provides a complete set of software components to support the Client’s
Insurance lifecycle that includes Policy Administration, Claims Management, and Billing & Collection.
Overview of Responsibilities
Duties of the post following initial formal and on the job training include, but are not limited
*Understanding the IDIT application concepts and business logic:
oknowledge of all domains functionality
oknowledge in Meta data manager (mapping and validations)
oknowledge in Product builder (product structure and product
setup abilities including rules and coefficient)
oUnderstanding the IDIT architecture (big picture)
oHave IDIT user skills
oDetect bugs and solve them
*To be proficient in the use of the IDIT setup tools to build and unit test
automated workflows and automated document generation, user profiles and permissions, and apply small to large scale configurations for new and existing insurance products for the UK and abroad. Common Tasks involve:
oAnalyse specifications into
oBasic bugs fixes in screen validation
oContact behavior setup
oFields mapping and screen validations setup with Meta data manager
oDocument set-up. Includes the use of ODTE and Java
“getters” to provide information into the document template. A SQL understanding for extracting data from the database is also required.
*Ability to work closely with software suppliers and IT team, sharing knowledge
*Working with the Client’s Business Analysts in identifying and proposing application system changes, better uses, enhancements and developments and liaising with software suppliers, users and the IT team.
the Test team to define tests for new or changing automated systems.
*Identify gaps in the available information required to understand a problem or situation and devising means of remedying such gaps.
*Ability to plan work and
actions in order to anticipate problems before they arise and implement solutions, and use associated time management and prioritising skills to adjust to the changing demands of the Clinet at short notice.
