Position: Retail IT Development Assistant
Location: Willenhall, West Midlands
Weekly working hours: Full time as per contractual arrangement
Contract type: Full time as per contractual arrangement
Salary: circa £25k plus car
As an IT Support Assistant you assist in the development and control of the best possible IT solutions to ensure efficient operations of retail IT systems through best working practice, control of costs and provision of friendly, efficient service to customers, colleagues and visitors.
a) Use information to work to deliver and improve KRA’s (Key Results Area).
b) Assist in delivering initiatives for driving the department forward; to assist in monitoring competitor IT activity, industry IT developments and contribute ideas for appropriate responses.
c) Assist in maximising the life span of equipment through delivering and communicating good working practices.
d) Deliver second line support to retail stores in line with service level agreements; to foster good relations with internal and external customers.
e) Assist in ensuring IT systems allow the relevant processes and policies can be adhered to in order to control the security of people, stock and cash.
f) Assist in ensuring IT systems allow the compliance and monitoring of relevant areas of legislation and health and food safety responsibilities as defined in the company hand book and health and safety manual.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Very good standard of numeracy and literacy.
b) Good working knowledge of IT systems.
c) Ability to manage own time and work accurately to deadlines; ability to assist in providing practical IT solutions for non-IT specialists
d) Ability to assist in creating and / or analysing business data / report sand financial information, work proactively to maximise profitability.
DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) NVQ level 2-3 in management (or equivalent); educated to A level or graduate standard.
b) Previous experience in a retail IT development role.
c) Basic working knowledge of health and food safety and legislative responsibilities of a retail environment and the skill to provide solutions to manage those responsibilities.
e) Experience in Progress.
