Position: Application Support Assistant
Location: Market Harborough, Leicestershire
Role Type: Full-time
Hours: 35 hours per week Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:15am and 6:30pm Monday to Friday on a rotational shift system, plus Saturdays 8.00am until 12.30pm on a rota basis.
Salary Band: £14,000 – £18,300 per annum dependant on experience
Benefits: 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays
They are looking for an IT Support Assistant to provide first line support to all faults reported to helpdesk & full support for all application software, excluding PC based systems. Previous experience is desirable although not essential as full training will be given to the successful candidate.
a) Provide first line support to all faults reported to helpdesk & full support for all application software, excluding PC based systems.
b) Assisting user departments in defining and setting up system parameters that are required by computer systems.
c) Dealing with application problems reported via the Helpdesk.
d) Complete system testing for new software releases and products.
e) Ensuring that operations procedures are carried out in accordance with daily and monthly schedules or as instructed by IT Services Manager and ensuring any problems are passed onto the Helpdesk to be resolved when required.
f) Bulk printing.
g) Logging users’ IT issues on the Helpdesk system and assigning to the appropriate IT member.
h) Filing computer printouts retained within Computer Department.
i) Distributing computer reports to user departments.
k) Writing SQL Reports in accordance with requests made by Department Managers.
l) Monitoring software and manual libraries.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Good communication skills.
b) A professional appearance and approach at all times
c) Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, and work to targets and deadlines.
d) I.T. literate.
e) To work evenings and weekends plus any additional hours for the needs of the business.
g) To work at other offices as and when required.
h) Ability to work as part of a small team.
DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Financial Services background experience.
b) Some previous operations experience in a UNIX and / or Oracle environment.
c) Use of Microsoft packages.
d) Ability to move computer equipment in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
e) Full driving licence and own transport
