About the role
You’ll be joining our Group Financial Control Department which is responsible for reporting the Group’s regulatory, statutory and management accounting information. Group Financial control also includes the Group’s Treasury, Tax, Financial Processing and Financial Systems teams.
A Business Support Analyst sits within the Group Financial Systems team and they are responsible for the configuration, maintenance and integrity of all Financial systems across the LV= Group.
In simple terms, this means you’re primarily responsible for the day to day administration and management of three systems; Oracle Essbase multidimensional database management accounts system, IBM Clarity 7 Planning and Forecasting system and IBM Cognos FSR reporting systems. You’ll provide 1st line support to account users, from account set up through to training and assisting when users run in to technical difficulties. Just as importantly, you’ll ensure these systems operate and backup as expected, so you’ll have a close on the system performance and where possible, refine templates, data collection/storage as well as the MI reporting of accounting data packs.
We’re looking for someone who has the technical knowledge of financial systems coupled with a good understanding of accounting, specifically around MI and planning, therefore you’ll be a part or fully qualified accountant.
You’ll have administration experience using Oracle Essbase or something similar such as; IBM TM1 or Microsoft SSAS including;
- Accounting data cube design (both block and aggregate storage databases)
- Accounting and Reporting cube maintenance/tuning
- Essbase Scripting
- Linking cubes via Partitioning
- Understanding of double entry bookkeeping
We’re also looking for someone who is familiar with IBM Cognos FSR (financial statement reporting), or something similar such as; Crystal Reports or SSRS and if you have experience of IBM Clarity 7 budgeting and planning system then even better!
